those discs cover pretty much everything. though on a tube, you are not going to be able to affect the picture as much as a projector based system. BUT you can improve it for sure.

keep this in mind, just because the setting says its perfectly calibrated. make sure you actually like the result. who cares if the picture is "perfectly calibrated" if it is hard to see, etc.

i say this, because i have found that these discs typically want a very dark picture, at the cost of detail. there is always a trade off, but i would rather see everything than have that perfect black!

tube tvs are going to be able to have the best of both worlds in that regard, but they have jagged edges, image tear, etc.
