I just purchased a 990/7500 combo and a few of the LFM-1 EX's and am now ready to buy the rest of my speakers. I'm leaning toward Axiom, but I can't fully shake the Aperion's from my mind either. I know this has been brought up as a topic before, but would anyone like to offer their opinions on Axiom vs. Aperion? Thanks.

I have the Axiom M80,VP150 and 4 M3's. I really like the package for both 2 channel listening and movies. The sound is fairly neutral. The sources are played back as is. For example using CD's they sound great. I tried an IPOD just so I could say I tried it using both the headphone jack and the USB outlet. It sounds awful. The speakers play back the source just as it recorded. Use a bad source, get a bad sound. The M80 have a high efficiency rating on paper, my experience is that they need a lot of power for higher levels. I thought this was just my experience, but my friend also has them and he tried using a Denon 3805 (two channel only) and he found the same thing. At higher levels you need very stable power. We both wound up using another amp. I use an ATI 1202 while he using an Emotiva (125x6). If you are using the 7500 it should be fine. As far as the Aperions, I have not seen a bad review and was tempted by those but went with the Axioms. I don't think that you'd go wrong with either choice. Both have good reviews and the dollar value for both is very good. They both eliminate the middle man so you get what you pay for.

Yeah, both appear to be an excellent value. I really like the direct marketing approach. Both have a 30-day money back audition period, but the Axioms just seem to be a little more bang for the buck. Maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks for your feedback.

I will check out AV123, thanks for the advice. Do you like your M80's? I'm also love to hear what you think of the QS8 quad-poles. Thanks.

I have enjoyed the M80s for 3 years. I upgraded from the M60s in the first 30 days so I go to A/B both speakers.

The QS8s are terrific surrounds. The only thing I did wrong was order Boston Cherry instead of Antique White. The white would have blended better into the decor. The 8s would probably work well with any system.

I'm about to try the open baffle speakers by AV123, the x-statiks. I am not unhappy with the 80s, just wanting to try something new. I have 2 of their MFW-15s, to replace my EP500 (a great sub), to pickup as well at the Chicago GTG April 12th.

Thanks Bugbitten. I'm still on the fence. I may end up buying both systems and send back the one I like least.

There is a GTG somewhere in NJ April 19th over on AV123. Might be worth a road trip.

I too was looking at the Axioms and the Aperions when I was putting my HT together. A friend of mine had the Axioms (I believe it was the Epic Master w/bookshelves all around and 12" sub) and I spent a fair amount of time over his house listening to them . I liked them so much that I was just about ready to order when I figured I'd give the Aperions an audition. I got 522's, with a VAC and a 12" sub. Granted, it was 2 very different listening environments, but I thought they were very similar in sound (great) and both were a tremendous value. Although sound was the top priority, the 2 factors that tipped the scales in the Aperions favor was the beautiful black laquer finish (very high WAF) and the superb customer service.
Its been several years now, and although my ears are not what they used to be, I'm still wow'd at how great the Aperions and Outlaw sound.

Thanks rance.

I think I am go for the Axioms because the of the QS8 quad-pole surrounds. I've heard really great things about them.
