I downloaded REW and ordered the UMIK-1. Watched a few videos and read a bit. Will give it a shot and report back.

This is the best video I have found to use REW. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev1bSSL8tRA

Try this video.
It really goes into detail how to set your processor up so you can actually do each channel individually.
You will have to join Dropbox but that's no big deal.

I went to Dropbox and checked out the guide it is more geared towards window users. I live in a Mac world. My MiniDSP came yesterday, very nice piece of equipment. Between the video I posted, REW for Dummies part 1, using REW with a Mac (AVS Forum) and the REW guides at the MiniDSP site I feel I'm ready to measure. I'm not quite sure how to upload the filters to the 976 but have no problem entering them manually. I am more of a music guy than home theatre and my external DAC runs through the 7.1 analog inputs. so I will apply the same filters to the DSP engine in Roon. All I need now is the time to measure!

I got everything up and running yesterday. I did 5 sets of measurements for both my mains and created an average curve. I ran the EQ module with a targeted flat response. The targeted curve looked very good, really Flat. I entered the EQ settings into the Roon DSP engine and the results were very boring. I went back to my 4 EQ points I had set by ear in Roon. I would post some of my curves but I can't figure out how to import my screen grabs. I am also looking into the Harman Curve as a target to EQ to. But I can report back that I entered my 4 EQ points into the 976 for the Rt and Lt fronts. Then using my Mac as a Roon endpoint sent a digital signal via HDMI to the 976. Really liked the built in DACs. So I ordered a Sonore UltraDigital and LPS to send SPDIF via coax to the 976 from my
UltraRendu. After reading over this post, I realize I am a nerd.
