The OSD is only on the HDMI #1 output so you have to have your display on to view it.

Playing digital music or videos (from computer, CD player, etc) connected by optical or coaxial is more or less unuseable, as the 976 will produce a fade-in a the begining of each track. The input names that cannot be renamed to suit the sources. When the unit is muted and I move the volume control knob to un-mute it, if I move the volume a single clic, the sub will remain muted. If I power down my Blu-ray player while its input is still selected, the unit will go silent and must be power cycled to recover sound on every other sources. The number of inputs that is limited, when the actual connectors are there, sitting unused.

Interesting.
I agree about not being able to rename the inputs but maybe that will come some day..
I will see if I can duplicate the other things you have mentioned.

Well being as I only use mine for TV and movies, and I am not looking to upgrade to ATMOS for a while it sounds like the 976 is perfect. Thanks for your input! Pun intended! smile

Kinda off topic but...

Speaking from experience, the 976 IS a SQ upgrade from the 975,😊. It also has independent PEQs* for all channels - a huge upgrade. The 975 had none.
*WARNING: use very cautiously in the bottom octaves. Will NOT fix bad acoustics or make small speakers shake your house

Yeah I wish we could change some display details.
a. Volume Setting as the default if I could change ONE thing
b. customize input labels
c. maybe temp toggle to a User setting then return to “Volume Setting.”

I know the Input Setting. I don’t need or want a constant reminder.

I hope your systems don’t have Remote issues. I bought/use a Harmony while viewing. I prefer the Outlaw for system setup

Enjoy your “new” system, Jmeno
