Was wondering if anyone else was having trouble with passing the signal through an HDMI cable of the Pioneer UDP LX500 to any of the inputs on the 975. When I switch on the Pioneer to the selected input Pioneer name comes up on the TV screen but then it immediately drops off and says no input.
Thanks in advance for your help.

The Pioneer is a 4k player and the 975 is only 1080p for starters. Is the Pioneer capable of outputting 1080p? That's one thing you need to find out.
Also, it looks like there is an 'audio only' HDMI output on the Pioneer that can be used to connect to the 975 and the main HDMI connects to the TV for video. To do this, you'll also need to connect the 975 HDMI-ARC to the TV's HDMI-ARC input. This is so the TV can handshake with the Pioneer and the 975 together.

Thanks for the quick response.
The HDMI cable can definitely handle 1080 it goes up to 4K it's a new cable. I also believe I have the arc setup correctly to the TV from the 975 as I have been using it in the past. I hooked the HDMI cable to the Pioneer in both out the main and the audio only with the same results. That being......... Pioneer flashes across the TV screen and then it goes blank and says no input.
I connected from the Pioneer to the Ark of the TV and everything worked. But as you can imagine I want to use my 975.

What I meant was, can the Pioneer downscale the video to 1080p. But also does this happen with non-4k discs?
Only the Main HDMI output from the Pioneer should be connected to the TV. The audio only output would be connected to the 975. Which would split the audio and video. The HDMI output from the 975 goes to another input on the TV, which is usually the HDMI ARC, to complete the HDMI handshake.
