Yep. I occasionally login here just out of morbid curiosity. Outlaw hasn't produced anything remotely innovative in years. Their heyday was 10-15 years ago. The Monoprice Monolith line has pretty much taken over as the bargain "audiophile on a budget" amp and subwoofer mart. And if you want a pre-pro with decent balanced outputs, room correction, modern feature set, good support, and legs in the marketplace, Marantz is really the only affordable game in town. And you can still buy those here if you wish.

It was great while it lasted.

Best,

I always thought that Outlaw was kind of ahead of the curve when it came to designing their processors.
When they released the 990 I think it was the first pre/pro that had 7.1 inputs to take advantage of things to come even though there wasn't a lot of 7.1 media out there.
The failure to deliver, I believe 2 processors, was the beginning of their slide downhill.

At least three processors have not made it to the shelves so far.

I couldn't remember if there was 2 or 3.
I kind of remember something like a 998 or 978.

998, 978, and the atmos processor yet to be named are the ones that come to mind at the moment. Oh yeah,,,don't forget the 997 Trinnov processor long promised. So that's four by my count that have been in the works and never delivered. Don't get me wrong I love all the Outlaw equipment I own and have had very few issues with any of the equipment.

Yes, I occasionally log in to see if there is anything happening, just in case. Maybe some top secret partnership with Emotiva or something.
