I've got a 975 preamp (and two other Outlaw devices). I've been running it in stereo with sub until I recently added a center and two fronts (moving the old fronts to the rear).

Before I changed, FM radio came in through the two speakers. I don't know about the sub; I'm not even sure FM can reach that low.)

However, after changing to 5.1, FM radio sounds only come through the center speaker. I can't find where I need to tweak it to get through at least the fronts.

Note: other things work great through 5.1. There's even a humorous sketch in one of the Halo games the clearly shows it's working (alien points to each speaker and speaks through it).

Does anybody know what I'm missing? I'm sure it's just some setting I missed or messed up, but ... frown

Thanks!

Jim

When I listen to FM I use the remote to switch playback to stereo. There is a specific button for this on the small remote (which is the remote we use).

When I use the Stereo mode I get the Front R&L + Sub.

I haven't fussed with it in a long while, but I think you can set the speaker outputs on a per input basis. It might be called MODE? I'm at work and can't fiddle with it right now. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that if you were to set the FM tuner to stereo configuration, it should remember that the next time you select it.

I can't find anything in the manual which allows adjustment of the output mode for the tuner. I assume there is some capability but I can't find it. I would suggest looking at the front panel to check that it is outputting what you want and if so the check your connections. Also make sure you are not in the FM Mono mode.

For 5.1 on the tuner source, try switching the surround mode to "all channel stereo"
That should give you equal output out of all speakers. You may be in a DD or DTS surround mode where the center is louder than the rest.
Press the surround mode button until you get to the all channel stereo setting. It's the last choice in the list.

A real easy way to tell if a speaker is functioning at a low level is to likely touch it on the cone.
