ANNOUNCING THE MODEL 5000 FIVE-CHANNEL POWER AMPLIFIER

THE BACK STORY

Ever since we introduced the Model 975, we have received dozens of requests for an accompanying 5-channel amplifier that would match the performance and value of this award-winning processor. Our customers have rightly pointed out that our only current 5-channel amplifier, the Model 7500, is nearly three times the price of the Model 975, making combos a somewhat pricey proposition.

With that in mind, developing a new 5-channel amplifier became a high priority for the Outlaws. However, the task was not as simple as it might sound. Unlike the chips that power a processor, the pricing for amplifier components such as metal and magnetics have risen dramatically in the last four years.

That made it difficult to build a new design in the US that would take no "shortcuts" in performance at the target price. Thus, we began a search for an off-shore manufacturing venue that could produce a product that met our high standards.

The results of this work led us to a US-based audio design team who has long-standing relationships with outstanding off-shore manufacturing facilities. In conjunction with the Outlaws, this enabled us to design and manufacture our first multi-channel amplifier built outside of the US, the new Model 5000.

INTRODUCING THE MODEL 5000

Designed as a perfect cosmetic match to the Model 975 surround processor, the Model 5000 delivers 5 x 120 watts into 8 ohms and 5 x 180 watts at 4 ohms. As with every Outlaw amplifier, both ratings are with all channels driven.

In addition to its robust power, the Model 5000 has a number of key design points:
A differential-sensing RCA input circuit designed to reject input hum.
Independent power supply rectification for each of the 5 channels, to ensure excellent isolation.
Two pairs of 150-watt Toshiba bi-polar output transistors per channel for fail-safe reliability.
Separate output protection relays for each channel, designed to disengage the speaker from the amp in the unlikely case of a short, or excessive DC offset.
A modular audio channel design to ensure each audio signal is isolated from the other channels, from input all the way to output.
We have been living with the Model 5000 for the last several months, evaluating it not only with the Model 975, but also with significantly more expensive processors, such as the Marantz AV7701. We are delighted with its robust power and effortless dynamics.

In summary, the Model 5000 is a robust powerhouse that has easily exceeded our demanding expectations. You can find all the details in the Owner's Manual here.

An initial quantity has been flown in and will be available within a week, so we are pleased to announce the availability of the Outlaw Audio Model 5000 5-channel power amplifier.

THE BEST NEWS IS THE PRICE!

The Model 5000 is priced at $599! We are not aware of any 5-channel amplifier that can match the quality, power and performance of the Model 5000 at anything close to its price.

The combo price is even better! The Model 975/Model 5000 combo price is an incredible $999, a $150 saving over the individual prices. We are confident that this is the best value available anywhere for a processor/amplifier combination.
