Are you perhaps referring to Mr. Poindexter and his rather remarkable theater ?

OK. I just briefly perused this link and all I can say is Holy Sh*&!.

Now, I know everyone's got their "thing," and granted, home theater is one of my things, but this is at a level that defies comprehension. It looks like this is a vocation for Mr. Poindexter as well as a consuming passion, so that helps exlpains the over the top nature, but sheesh! One look at the equipment list with associated price tags would spell D-I-V-O-R-C-E in most people's houses.

It's a sobering equipment list, all right. For most of us, that list would probably lead to bankruptcy (assuming divorce didn't stop the spending before it reached that point, that is). If budget, devotion, and knowledge combine to allow such a system, it's a great thing. For the rest of us, at least there are options (like Outlaw) that let us get really good systems with a budget that's a few decimal places smaller. wink

For most it is fun to fantasize of about constructing a home theater like Mr. Poindexter's and having the discretionary income to make it happen! And if along the way if I learn a few things that I can apply in my modest family room/home theater that works for me too.
