the quanset workshop has no leaks and has end-walls. The yellow roll around cabinets are further protection. When in use I have a exhaust fan in the cabinet plus a small fan to blow air into it. Never even get close to over heating. If it did I would see a Red light on the NAD's.
Not sure what Cheyenne Mountain is. I am in Southeast Texas.
And about the blown speakers. It turned out to be a bad optical audio cable. When I got the Sony(ES) SACD palyer, the PO tossed in a Monster Optical audio cable so I started using it. Last night I put the cheap Dynex one back on and it sounds like it used to again. Awesome. Now I am looking at all the various types and sizes of optical audio cables. .5mm to 2mm and some are enev bigger. single strand or multi strand. Which is best and can too big of a cable dilute the optical signal? I know Monster is crap.
I am pleased with the Sony SACD player. It actually the only sony product I have that i do not dislike. The ES line must be the difference.

Go with Outlaws PDO cable or go to Bluejeans cables and get a quaility piece of gear at a fair price.

Cheyenne Mountain is the USAF control center for NORAD. It has a cavelike interior similar to your workshop. Do you get a lot of reverb in your quanset hut? How do you control it if you do?

none that I have noticed. Concrete floors and all. With nothing to absorb the sound, you can really feel the pressure waves. I am very happy with the sound quality. But again, This is my first venture into the higher food chain sound systems. With so much to pick from out there, I closed my eyes and threw a dart. Turned out Outlaw is the bulls-eye. I would have got Outlaw amps too but already had the one NAD.

Oh. That Cheyenne Mountain. I remeber that from my Civil Air Patrol days back in the 70's
