I'm sure I'll think of more releases, but just today I had a playlist queued up that I had not heard in a while; my streamer was on random, and these two happened to play back to back.

I love the way these tracks sound - musically, as well as from a recording perspective.

"If Love Was a Train" by Michelle Shocked. I think this is an original and not a cover, but wow, great feel to this tune - basically a 12-bar blues variant, but I really think the way this track was engineered is just great, and the musicianship is really, really good.

"Blue Spanish Sky" by Chris Issak. I have to say that I like this track for pretty much the same reasons. They're vastly different in terms of feel (with the former being far more 'up' and the latter being much more reflective and pensive). Also, the former has a tempo that's just the opposite of the latter (which is in waltz time).

Anyway...if you don't know these tracks, check 'em out.
