Anyone successfully burned/played an mpeg4 file on their oppo DVD player? I've got about 100 hours of content from my company's TV programming that I wanted to archive onto dual layer DVD's in mp4 format (to save space). These aren't meant to be "archival quality," but just enough so interns can troll through show segments and look for bits they need on occasion.

If I can get it to work at home, I'll buy a few for the office. 8-)

Cheers,

Have played my xVid AVI conversions in my Oppo. All worked as expected.

As I understand it, DivX is a form of MPEG4, and I've also had no problems playing back DivX files on my Oppo. I'd certainly suggest giving it a shot, as it should work.

I have a DVD player, by Phillips that's worked perfectly so far, for over a year. They provide new firmware periodically.

And the price is pretty decent.
