I currently have an M&K 7.1 system with an Epik Legend for the sub (plan on adding a 2nd Legend around christmas time). These are the older M&K's. For movies, I have yet to hear anything that comes close except for the M&K 150's which are of course, far better and more expensive than my setup. For 2 channel music, they kinda suck. For HD audio sources such as blu-ray concerts, they are amazing. I was curious as to how the Outlaws would compare. The Outlaw LCR's are $200 more than the, what I would call the equivalent, M&K line (LCR 750). The bookshelves are also pretty pricey. Obviously Outlaw is very proud of these speakers. The surround models seem to be the only speakers somewhat reaonably priced and they haven't been in stock for I don't know how long. So I guess to all you outlaw speaker owners, are these things really that good? I mean a 7 channel system with 3 LCR's and 4 bookshelves, you're looking at dropping $4000.00 and that's with no sub. If you replace the bookshelves with surrounds, you're looking at just over $3500.00 which is a little better but still not what I would consider to be a "value" like their amps. Thoughts?

Man, if you aren't discussing an amp on here, then these forums seem dead.

Outlaw had the speakers built from Snell which is no longer in business. I always thought the speaker line was overpriced for my budget but I have never heard them. I prefer large towers anyway so they never really interested me that much. At any rate I am not sure they are still available, despite what the products page says. Maybe the Outlaws could update about the stock situation.

You are right about the forum being dead except for amps. We have all been waiting for so long for the new pre-pro that the forum is less and less relevant in regards to any other Outlaw equipment.

The forum has always focused more on the equipment than anything else (unlike some forums where a good bit of regular traffic comes from other discussions). In particular, during the busiest times it has been a source for answers to customer questions. Surround processors have always been the pieces that generated the most questions. In comparison, amps and stereo receivers and subwoofers are pretty straightforward and generate fewer questions.

Yes I already have a 7 channel M&K system. Curious about these speakers though which is why I was asking. Reviews seemed good but I don't know if it will be an upgrade to an M&K setup. I've always been one of those loyal M&K guys. For movies, which is what my system is mainly used for, they cannot be beat. They just have that cinema sound if that makes any sense. For 2 channel listening, I've heard a pair of $600 Monitor Audio towers that sound much better.
