5 years and 4 months. It was a great receiver. So powerful and dynamic. Sure, it had quirks and flaws. But it had the heart of a beast.

Don't suppose you guys can fix it?

When I select an input to turn it on I hear one relay click and the light on the left side goes from yellow to green and then nothing else happens. No display or other response.

When does the new receiver come out?

Outlaw may be able to revive it, depending on what failed. The best way to check with them is through their support site (found here) or by calling them.

I don't know what plans they have for a new receiver. The market has changed a lot in the last four years or so, and I think Outlaw is shifting their focus toward surround processors (same level of complexity from a functionality standpoint, but with less competition and potentially higher profit per unit sold). If it is truly dead, the Marantz SR5005 that Outlaw is selling is a pretty darn nice piece of gear.

Had my 1070 repaired back in Nov/Dec 2010. The service was prompt and inexpensive. Please see my post #85278. Certainly give them a call, but it will also probably be worth shipping it to them.

Mine just started to do the same thing this weekend... Corndog did you contact Outlaw, what was the verdict?

So I shipped my 1070 back to Outlaw and they fixed it for a mere $75 (plus return shipping of $34) and all within a few weeks. I spoke to one of the techs after the 2nd week to follow up and he said they were QCing it at that moment and wanted a few more days to make sure it was in perfect working order.

It's working even better than before it crapped out on me and I'm very happy!

Thx Corndog... I just got mine back, same cost, same issue as yours. Also, same result... It's working better than it was before, & it sounds better. It appears that replacing a few capacitors, and a couple of other things the tech told me has solved the quirky problems that I've been experiencing over the years. No more having to select an input source 2 or more times to get the unit to power on. I've been playing it for the past 8 hours and not once has it cackled or screech such that I have to turn it off & back on to clear it...

Actually, I've fell back in luv with my 1070 again!!!

Hey all,

Just had the exact same thing happen to me this evening: powers on, single "click", standby light goes from amber to green, nothing more.

I really love this receiver and if I hadn't found this thread I think I'd be pretty bummed out right now. I'm not ready to say goodbye to this thing. This next Monday I'll have to give support a call and ask if I can send mine in for a similar repair. I've had *excellent* experiences with outlaw tech support in the past, so I'm hopeful smile

I'll keep y'all updated, for posterity of course ;-)

My 1070 died yesterday. Standby light is on and it appears to power up but nothing is displayed on the screen. I suspect caps are the problem. Now the big decision.. upgrade or repair.

For around $75.00 it can be repaired to work as good as new. Seems to be the right choice and you can still upgrade later and use the 1070 somewhere else.
