I just wanted to know how they mate up. My current 950 took a dive on me and I added my first HDTV so I'm looking to upgrade my pre instead of getting to 950 fixed.

My current setup is Outlaw 950, and 750 running Klipsch RF-83 setup, 5.1.

After reading all the great reviews the AV7005 is getting on AVS and the price it makes a great option. I'm looking to get a new pre within the next month so any help would be great.

Thanks,
James

That is quite a deal they have with the amps. A 7700 for $1599 is insane. $699 for the 7125 is a killer. Buy em now and wait for the 998 or get a 7005 to go with them.

New Outlaw is puzzled by seeing Marantz equipment on an Outlaw sight. I'm guessing Outlaw is no longer in the Preamp/Processor/Receiver buisiness and is a Marantz reseller to fill that gap.

My Adcom preamp/surround processor had an issue and I went to their sight to find an authorized service center. I noticed that they only have amps now, and felt that talking to someone about my Adcom preamp was passe. Note that the Adcom amps I have are made in USA while the preamp is not. I figured they pulled there off shore assembled products. Strange they have no AV preamp offerings. They also seem to have a small network of after sale options - which is telling. I'm guessing Outlaw has a simular market situation except that they found an avenue to provide other gear to stay full service.

I should pretend my "new to me" 990 needs repair and see where that leads. I'm curious about my new Outlaw family... seems alive and well, but the other brand offerings is strange to me.

It's been covered a number of times before, but Outlaw's developing of an HDMI-based processor has been a very bumpy road. In the interim, they have offered some other manufacturers' hardware as a stop-gap solution. Marantz has been the main business partner in that regard. Once the Model 978 gets off the ground, I expect we'll see a change in that regard.

This must be a forum where you know each other's thoughts and my spelling is construed as a lack of intelligence. Thank you for letting me know. Excuse me, please continue.
