Can anyone recommend a good portable DVD player?

I want one that can play DVD-R media as well as normal DVDs well. I'm thinking about the Panasonic LX8 but thought I would ask to see if I should consider something else.

as much as it pains me to say it, i think the cheap off brands are just about as good as any when it comes to portable dvd players. a panasonic isnt worth 3x as much as brand x... take your burned dvd-rs in to see if they work... we have one that we got for free with my gfs phone, and it plays all of my burned dvds. it is an ESA brand, whatever that is. i would have never bought it, but suprisingly it plays every disc ive tried, has tv-out and works fine... its not widescreen though, which sucks...

Toshiba's SDP-1400, 2000, 2500 and 2600 are all top rated portables starting as low as $220.00
