Is outlaw planning on ICEPower type amps, they could be cheaper and better for some of us...:)

They've mentioned before that they have been watching the development of this technology, but it's been years ago since it was really discussed.

It will be great to know what they are thinking today, it seems Rotel amps, Pioneer Elite Receivers, Bel Canto, Jeff Rowland...are currently using these..; I believe modules like ASPX1000 offer lot of bang for the buck.

That sounds interesting.... Thanks for the heads-up, Peter. I don't really have a need for an amp upgrade, but would be curious to see what Outlaw might come up with in this regard.

It's been discussed here a few times, but this is the first time anyone from Outlaw has weighed in with any commentary. Seems like this might be a nice little niche for Outlaw to be in if they could be a value player. None of the "big names" are really playing in this space with the exception of Rotel. There are a few smaller audiophile players, but they're all charging a fortune for their products. Solid state class AB "boat anchor" amps aren't going away (much like their tube predecessors), but I think the mainstream is going to migrate to digital amps as component prices fall and efficiency demands from consumers increase.

Best,

yes I've heard much on ice amps though I like to see what they can use in the 4/2/1 ohms spectrum

I have a 7 channel system with d-sonic's ICE amps powering an MK150 system and they're excellent. Everyone that watches on this system, which has an 11' wide screen loves the sound, especially my girlfriend. I have been thinking of selling my Adcom GFA7707 for another ICE Amp. Right now I don't have an absolute need, but if I were to buy a 9.2 preamplifier, then that might be the time. I highly recommend listening to an ICE with your favorite speakers if you get a chance.

Compare something like this:

to the Outlaw 7700. Planning to audition one of these in the coming months. This is the future.

I too think it's the future. My adcom weighs around 80lbs and it's a beast. The d-sonic weighs far less and it consumes far less electricity when idle. Put ICE ampes in a new chassis to go with the 998 and I'd be happy.
