Dedicated HT room/media room, rectangular, 14 x 28 x 6.5 feet.

I really would like to spend as little as possible, but still get decent quality and LFM1 compact seems like a good value.

Difficult to say because expectations for bass very greatly by person. I have the Outlaw LFM-1EX because I didn't want to say, "I wish...", but going with two subs is supposed to give you better flexibility in smoothing out the bass response. So you could pick up one and that would certainly be "good" and then if you wanted more you could add a second later. I am really happy with my LFM.
