My dedicated Home Theater is 12.5 wide and 25' long with 6.7 ceilings. I am looking to buy a new subwoofer to go along with my existing JL Audio Fathom.
At this time the Fathom is located in the rear of the room. This position was not a favorite in JL's manual. Also where it is located there are movie style seating in front of the sub. I get the best sound overall in this section of the room.
It is a fantastic piece of equipment.

I would like to even out the bass response by adding the LFM 1 Compact sub locating it in the front of the room.
I do not have a hell of a lot of space. The front of the room at it's smallest point is 8' slowly widening to 12.5 at the back of the theater.
I am a bass freak.
Will the compact do the job?

I have the LFM 1 Compact for my 2.1 computer system. I paired it with my Audioengine 5's. Personally witht he Fathom (model ?), I'm not sure if you're going to hear much from the LFM 1 Compact. Please don't misunderstand me, I think it's a great sub and I'm listening to it right now, but for huge bass, it's only going to give you a limited return with a 10" woofer.

I have the Klipsch RSW-15 and it drops down to 19hz which is nice deep bass. I think you need to look at something with at least a 12" driver, but if you want the low low rumble get an F113 or something with an 18" driver.

I'd read this thread at AVSFrorum http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=768150

Fathoms are pretty small subs for the sound they put out. Two should destroy your room adequately.

Thanks Retep,

Your response to destroying my room is very well taken.
I really did not think that the compact would be adequate and I am willing to step it up a bit.
Another Fathom and my better half will be destroying ME.
However I was considering the Fathom 110 or 112 anyway. That is if the Outlaw subs cannot do the job.

I will wait until I hear from Scott before I break the news to the Mrs.

Thanks again

I can't imagine the F113 isn't doing the trick. You must want crazy bass.

I've been toying with the idea of adding another sub, but I'm interested in movement. I've been looking into an 18" or two for below the seating area or somewhere. The sound currently is well matched, but I'd like to roll around a bit more. :p

The Fathom 113 is the best sub that I have ever had not to mention that I have demoed in my HT. You are right about me being bass crazy. But this venture to adding another subwoofer is only a thought not a piece of equipment that I will be buying soon.
The next piece of equipment is Blu-Ray....MAYBE. I still need more info. Not only the best bang for the buck but also something that will not be outdated the minute I buy it.
