I just ordered a LFM-1 Compact last night on line. My main listening area is around 800 cubic ft. Then there is a large opening where my computer desk is. That is about another 950 cubic ft. So I am coming in at less than 1800 total. The area where I need to locate my sub would not accommodate the LFM-1 Plus. After looking at several options, I came to the conclusion that the Compact should be enough for my main listening/HT area. I am using a Denon 3808CI, with Paradigm Studio 60's with matching center. I have smaller JBL surrounds. I am replacing a JBL sub with the Compact. The JBL is 11 years old. It only is rated to 40Hz. It is also only 150 watts. It is ported on the front and has two 8" drivers. One powered, and one passive. I am hoping the Compact will really help fill out my system. Once it arrives, I will try and post what I think. Man I hate waiting on shipping.

Smitty4UT - Welcome to the forum. Saw your posting over on S&V and gave you my thoughts based on the LFM-2 I have. Enjoy!

My new LFM-1 Compact arrived on Friday. I got it set up and configured. I ran the Audyssey for my Denon again using 6 different points. I sure that they are plenty of subs that can go deeper, and cost more, but this thing is a huge step up from what I was using. My wife could even tell a big difference, and she can never see or hear what I hear. The bass is way more tighter than anything I have had before. It is clean with no boomyness. Watch part of the Eagles from Melborne DVD. The kick drum was pounding my chest. I really believe that if I had went with a larger sub, it would have been to much for my listening area.

I just bought the LFM-1 Compact today. I'm going to use it with my Audioengine 5 speakers for my computer system. Should be interesting to see how it fits under my desk. :p

I purchased mine on the 29th just getting under the sales wire... I'm replacing a 10yr+ old Sony 200w 12" sub thats quite boomy. I'm using a Yamaha 659 with JBL Studio Ls (830/C1/810). The Sony shakes the hell out of the 2 windows in my listening room (annoyingly so) when watching a blockbuster like Batman. I hope the downfiring Outlaw will eliminate this although thats not a deal breaker. I just need new windows.

Hurry up FedEx!

If the Sony rattled the windows , the compact will blow them right out of their sills !

Now that I've had my LFM1c for a week or so I can say that I'm very pleased. My old Sony was a lot boomier that I thought. The LFM1c blends in with my Studio L series mains seemlessly were as the Sony sounded like a seperate piece of equipment. As for the windows, there is improvement due, I think, to the directional nature of the Sony (front firing and aimed directly at the wall with the windows). I still need new windows.
