ok, i have the 990/7500 and all is great, well not exactly. It would seem the 12v trigger does not work on the amp. No matter what sequence i use to connect, when the cable is connected to the amp it overrides everything and turns it off. At that point it will not turn on or off using the front button.
Anybody have some suggestions, i really need to use the trigger for on and off to the amp.
thanks, UMtiger

Make sure you're using DC trigger 1. The 990 has two 12V triggers. DC trigger 2 is an assignable trigger that you can assign to specific inputs. It's used for advanced functions described on page 25 of your manual.

I have a 990/7700 combo (same as the 7500 with 2 additional channels). I'm using DC Trigger 1 and it works fine, always has.

If this isn't your issue, call outlaw support.

Hope this helps,
Tony.

Thanks palmer,
I have it assigned to #1. If I power up the amp and then connect, it turns the amp off and no on or off with the 990 changes that. If I connect and then power up, it will not turn on at all, either using the master on the back or the button on the front. Just at a loss.

Just a thought...Cables with 3.5mm mini plugs come in both mono and stereo and the 7500 manual says to use the mono version. I wonder if you are using a stereo cable and that might be the problem. I believe a stereo plug will have a band towards the pointy end of the plug.

Your thought would be correct, I was using stereo instead of mono. I had the cable so long I didn't know which it was.
You know, I read the manual many times but the mono part just didn't stand out to me, glad you thought of it, should have been a no brainer I guess.
And, yes the trigger switch is working fine.

Kicks self... Here I was thinking that the cable being used was a mono version included with the 7500. Sorry, UMtiger - I should have asked about that Saturday. Anyway, at least AvFan got to the bottom of it for you. smile

UMtiger,

I'm glad the mono trigger cable worked. Now it is time to enjoy your system!
