Well I just placed an order on the Pioneer S-1EX speakers that amazed so many at the Expo in Los Angeles. I know I must upgrade my electronics. I think I will audition Outlaw amps with my 990 and go from there. Any suggestions

Those are some nice looking speakers. They're just a little shy of 90dB efficient, so they aren't too power hungry. The Stereophile review available on Pioneer's site confirms this - the reviewer says that they can play loud without a huge amp, although the amp needs to be comfortable operating at 4 ohms (as all of Outlaw's amps are). You could probably drive them well with a Model 7125, although I'd be tempted to go with a Model 7500 or 7700 (depending on whether the room would support a 7.1 setup or not).

Thanks Gonk I'd didn't see that review it reafirms what I heard at the HE2000. Outlaw sent me a ticket and I ended up buying a 990 a month later. I first was going with the Para Studio 100v3 then I read about the v4. I decided to wait, then I said I think I can afford the Signature S8, big promotion at work lucky me, when a "VERY NICE" price on the S-1EX was found. i couldn't resist. I think I may have to eventually upgrade all my electronics to take advantage of these babies
