or operator error? I have a Sony DVD and Wii into the 970 component inputs. (cable is composite for now) Monitor Out (Component) to Toshiba Regza 42"" component in. But the regza says "no signal". I DO get signal going directly from wii or dvd into regza but not from the 970 monitor out. I get component and s video out from the 970 but not component. Any assistance is much appreciated.

What do you have the DVD and Wii inputs' "Video" set to in the 970's setup menu? I'd make sure they're set to "component" first. Also, do you get a signal from the 970 at all? It's possible that the component input doesn't work with a 480i signal (it's rare but not unheard of), so that you'd only be able to get a signal from the 970's component monitor output if the source was 480p or higher.

yep. both are set to component. The TV sees a faint flicker or 2 of color then reports no signal. The component outputs of the devices at 480i directly into the tv show up fine (and TV confirms they are 480i). But will not "see" the signal from 970 component output. I have to send the 970 back anyway for a new trigger plate so ...

It's very possible that I'm overlooking something (don't have much experience with the 970), so it might be good to get Outlaw's tech support on the case. Have you tried different cables at the 970's component output?

heh... weird. 2 different monster component cables did not carry signal from 970 to tv. Cable supplied by comcast for their HD cable box DID! The other cables carry signal from devices to 970 fine. Issues solved- but very weird!

Cable impedence is likely the issue. With cables its rare that you get what you pay for.
