Are codes for the Oppo 970 DVD player and vizio vx37l or Olevia 537 TVs for the 970 remote.

I am about to put together a system for my duuaghter around the 970 and owuld like to use the 970 remote to unify the devices.

There is a UEI code for the OPPO 970HD, but last I heard it was not included in the version of the UEI database loaded onto the Outlaw remotes (Model 990 and Model 970/1070). I don't know about the Vizio and Olevia TV's.

You might consider picking up something like an MX-500 for not too much money. A good universal (especially one with learning at least some macro capability) can be a huge help in operating a home theater setup.

gonk: I've been considering a marco capable universal remote and this looks like a great deal. But I've heard programming these things requires reading a manual the size of War and Peace. Do you know if the MX-500 is on the user friendly side?

The MX-500's pretty friendly, actually - I've set up several and given a co-worker a little coaching when he set up his. The review that I wrote some years back gets into pretty good detail on how to set up an MX-500 - short of a computer interface, I can't think of a universal remote that's easier to program than the MX-500.
