When I fast foward thru commericals on my DVR (Motorola Cable Box), the 970 switches to analog, and when I hit to play, the 970 switches back to digital, which results in a delay in getting the audio going again. What causes this? Can the 970 be configured so it does not switch back to analog?

The 970 has an auto-polling option that will revert to analog if the digital signal is interrupted. It's a great feature for somebody with a digital cable box that doesn't convert analog audio stations to digital (such as all the Scientific Atlanta boxes I've used), but otherwise it is probably more trouble than it's worth. You should be able to go into the menu, input setup, and disable auto-polling for any inputs that you don't see a need for auto-polling (which may be every input you have).

That did the trick. The audio now comes back on immediately. Much better!
