Since the optical jacks on my 1070 are falling apart, I may have to switch audio inputs to coaxial. Can anyone advise whether there will be any loss of quality, bandwidth etc.

No, coaxial will work just as well as optical.

Thanks Gonk. Will the 1070 pass 1080p through the DVI switching? I picked up a few HDMI -> DVI cables and a new KURO PD6020FD for my theatre. Not sure if I sure go through the 1070 for video switching.

I'm pretty certain that the DVI switching can handle 1080p.
