Hey All,

What up? You all know me as an audiophile that in the old days uses Tube premap and power amp. These days I am using the 1070 with Audiophile speakers, sub and DVD player and I must say I am very happy.

What do all of you think of the 1070?

Liz

I've had mine now for about 5 days...I am really pleased with the sound quality. I've already experienced the no audio issue though...I had to shut off the master power switch and then repower for it to work. I was watching a HD broadcast and it wouldn't respond to the remote at all. I've also noticed the slight audio pause when switching channels from High Def to SD.
I also experience about a 1 second cutout on the audio when switching tracks on a cd.
Overall though, I'm very impressed with it!

og33,

I had the same issue with the first second of audio from CD's over a digital connection.

Check the CD input and make sure "Auto-Poll" is turned off. In fact, if you have digital input only for your Video input make sure it's off there as well.

What Auto-Poll does is automatically switch from digital to analog input if the digital signal goes away. If your sources are digital only, there's no need to use it.

When I turned Auto-Poll off, no more lost first second of music from CD's and no one second dropouts when changing channels.

Hope this helps,
Tony.

Tony,
Hmmm. My CD input is analog...but I'll have to check and see if there's anything in the setup menu that shows video. I'll change the satellite (video1 for me) auto-poll to off and see if that takes care of that problem. Thanks for the tip!

BTW...this is hands down the best sounding receiver I've ever owned (and I've had a bunch over the years!) My only temptation at this point is wondering how much of an improvement the 990 would be (for music).

John
