Hello
Ive had my 950 for a couple of years now and never had any problem. Maybe Ive had a brain fart I dont know but when i try to play a Muli-channel SACD in the 6-channel bypass mode I have only front speakers. I dont think its the player but Im not sure. Any help would be appreciated

Hi Hawj,
I had run into a similar problem. It turned out that I had messed up the settings in my DVD-A player and it was sending out only the 2 channel out. Once I fixed that everthing started working again.
To debug this I had disconnected every cable from my dvd-a player except one and kept moving that around on the dvd-a end.

Hello Sandeep
thanks for the reply. I just went through the player again and everything seems ok still no fix. I'll keep looking but for now I'm like a MULE looking at a New GATE.
Thanks

There's a quirk with the 950's multichannel analog input - you need to switch to the input from an input that is set to a multichannel processing mode of some sort at the time. If the input that you're using immediately before engaging the multichannel analog input is set to stereo, only the left and right channels of the multichannel input will be active.

Hi gonk
I remember that quirk and set my player to multichannel first and then switch to 6 channel by-pass -still no luck. Any other advice?
Thanks

Well, it appears taht you've already done the things that occur to me, but if you want to double-check... Make sure that the player isn't downmixing for some reason, check that the disc is multichannel (there are a lot of stereo SACD's out there), check that all the connections are good, and make sure the 950 was set to surround processing (the 950, not the player, which I think is what you meant).

Hello again gonk
You hit it on the head. The player was DOWNMIXING.
I just overlooked it. Thanks again
