Well guys, I have been lurking on this site, and many other HT sites for many moons, reading rave review after rave review about Outlaw's products. Today I finally pulled the triger on a 990/7500 combo. I simply can't wait until this arrives.

I'm currently running a cheap Yamaha receiver which is rated (inflated) at 65wpc. It was a home theater in a box, of which I am currently still using the sub too.

I have Polk RTi8's up front, Polk CSi5 center, and Polk FXi5 rears. I am strongly considering upgrading the fronts to either the RTi12's or LSi15's very soon.

Well thanks for the wonderful site. I'll post up when all of my items arrive. Got a Harmony 880 coming, as well as an SVS sub. I'm certian I'll have many questions for you guys...

Now that's an upgrade! You have a nice surprise in store for after using that HTIB Yammy, good choice on the Sub too.

Welcome to the forum.

That sounds like a good upgrade, JWBurns. Welcome to the forum, and have fun setting up all the new equipment.

Hey JW-

After many years with a 1050, I also pulled the trigger on a 990/7500 combo today. I'll race you to see who gets theirs first!

Now all I need is a bigger rack!

I have similar speakers in my HT: Polk RTi8(front)/CSi5(center)/RTi6(surround)/FXi5(back) and SVS PCU(sub) which I'm enjoying immensely.

My HT used to be LSi15/LSiC/LSi9/LSi9 but these were relegated (!) to a multichannel, music-only system because I found the LSi series lacking in the punch and even (gasp) brightness I wanted for movies (and this coming from a tube guy).

I would strongly advise against mixing the LSi and RTi series as they sound noticeably different.

My favorite speaker of all the Polks is the CSi5. For HT, I think it is superior to the LSiC.

I think one option you have is keeping the RTi8s and adding a good sub.

Hey Kahuna-

I'm from Cranston....I've had the 990/7500 combo for about a month; your're gonna love it!! I originally had the 7125 but moved up to the 7500 to cash in on the upgrade offer. The 7125 was no slouch, that's for sure; it really was nice but I wanted a little more power...
The thing is, now, I find myself constantly in Strawberrys' and Newbury Comics searching thru their used CD bins....it's like rediscovering music all over again!

Well guys thanks for the great replies!

Kahuna.. At least you have a rack buddy. I have nothing at the moment. I might give Fry's a try and see what they have. Gotta stay stylish!

Muerkel.. Thanks for the heads up on the difference in speakers. Based on your remarks, I will give the 8's a try. If I find them lacking, thinking of trying the RTi12's.

If you are looking for good AV rack stuff, check out Salamander.

It's pretty much all modular, so you can buy shelving, bridges, doors, sides and whatever to do your setup however you want.

Price for two 30" shelves and a custom bridge is around $1100.

I priced out a system that would have one custom bridge for a 52" HDTV, two 20" side units and two 40" extensions plus another custom bridge to hold the center channel above the HDTV and it came out to about $2000.

Shelves are completely adjustable as is placement of the bridges.

And you can always add stuff on later. It's all wood and steel stuff. Some people like the glass shelving stuff, but I think it's a bit too flashy and harder to keep clean too.

You can also do what I did. I didn't want to pay that much so I took the salamander triple 20 specs, modified them to my own need and had mine built locally for $450.00! I never could find a credenza at 17" tall so I got tired of looking and it worked out great!

The triples or quads don't work for me as I put my sub underneath the TV.

Which is why I like the two towers and bridges thing.
