My old pre/pro always displayed the mode that was currently playing... ie. DTS, DPLII, Stereo5, etc. There must be a way to display this info on the monitor. I know it won't show on the 990.

A little help please. Thanks,
Mitch

I have settled into a rather simple approach - I know what my preferences are for each input, I know pretty much where the different indicators are (Dolby Digital, Pro Logic II, PCM, DTS), and I can tell by whether or not the subwoofer's LFE indicator is on whether the source is 5.1 or 2.0. It's not as effective or precise as the way my old 950 worked (top right corner ID'ed the format), but it's gotten me by.

This would be a great additional feature if Outlaw could find a way to offer a visual cue on the unit's display.

Cheers,

I know if you press the SURR MODE button on the 990 it will tell you the what mode you are in.
Wish They could add code to show that so i could add it to my Home Theater Master MX-700

True, you can set the default for each input, but the 990 has this pesky bug that sometimes switches the default input.

Tonight, for instance, I was listening to a cd and discovered it was in PLII mode and not upsample which is my default. Hopefully this will get fixed in the update.
