Howdy one and all! First post, glad to be here. So, how is the 2ch bypass from the 990 compared to the 950's performance for those of you lucky enough to have compared both?? I noticed there were some postings stating that all pre-amps are the same in 2ch mode and nobody would be able to tell the difference in a blind test. More or less. But that hasn't been my experience having the luxury of freely auditioning a number of products from Anthem/Parasound/Bel Canto/Aragon, Radio Shack, the guy down the street, etc...But all I want to know is 'how do you like it' and would you be please be graphic as possible of any differences between the 950/990...I love reviews!

In bypass mode they should sound the same since you are bypassing the pre/pro and using the transport as your DAC. In stereo mode (using the pre/pro's DAC) I think the 990 is superior to the 950, but I still prefer bypass with my Onix XCD-88.
