Dose any1 have a idea (Ball Park) on what the new successor to the 990 preamp will cost. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the 990 now but I'm wondering if I should take advantage of the deal this month or just wait and buy the new one when it comes out due to I don't know if I will be able to afford to upgrade again. But if the price is not something crazy I might be able to.

I wish Outlaw had a Upgrade program like SunFire has but this is better then nothing.

They may not have an upgrade program, but from this page Outlaw Double Down , it shows you can get a $200.00 discount on the new models if you get a 990/970 now.

We don't have any pricing information available at this time. We have a little history:

Model 950 original retail: $900
Model 990 original retail: $1100
Model 970 original retail: $700

The 950 and 970 are similar feature sets, with the 990 being a bit of a step up from them. We're likely to see more video processing horsepower tucked into the next generation, which is not something that we've seen in the past. I do think that we'll see them keeping their pricing in the same general neighborhood as they have before.

As for an upgrade program, I've got a few thoughts. First, in addition to the current deal (a $200 savings), Outlaw is offering a $200 discount off of the next gen products for 990 and 970 owners (available during the first six months of production for next gen products). After that discount, you still own the old processor and can use it elsewhere in your house, keep it in the closet, or simply sell it to help pay for the new processor.
