Dear Fellow Outlaw:

Before proceeding to the news at hand, our apologies for the problems with our last Newsletter. Due to an irregularity in our server system, some of you received multiple copies of the same message. We have addressed the problem and regret any inconvenience that you may have experienced.

We’d also like to thank the many Outlaws who turned out to visit our display and demo suite at the Home Entertainment Show at LAX earlier in the month. It was a pleasure to meet many of you for the first time as well as to renew long-standing acquaintances. For those who were not able to attend, the Show Specials are still available through June 30th, as follows:

“Taking Lows to a New Height”: Be the first on your block to pair the new LFM-1 Plus with the SMS-1 and save while you’re at it! The price for this amazing combination normally lists for $1,278, but our introductory, show special price of $999 saves you $279!

“Big Sound for a Small Price”: The combination of our Model 970 processor, the Model 7075 amplifier and the LFM-2 subwoofer delivers sound quality well beyond what you might think is possible with components of their diminutive size. This system fills your room with the best in movie and music reproduction. The show special price of $1,499 is nearly $200 off of the individual prices of these items.

“Bass Basics”: The Model 1070 receiver is not only powerful and feature packed, it is the only 7.1 channel AV receiver we know of to feature analog, as well as digital, bass management. Pair it up with the compact, yet powerful LFM-2 and the result is seamless sound no matter what your main channel speakers are. The show special price for this incredible combination of power and performance is $1,099, a $100 discount from our normal pricing.

Price Increases

As we first announced in the Newsletter that was sent out prior to the Home Entertainment Show, we have had numerous price increases from our suppliers in the past year. Higher prices worldwide in the costs for basic commodities such as steel and copper, along with the higher shipping costs caused by the dramatic increase in fuel prices, have become a fact of life in every part of the economy. We have been able to absorb most of those price changes up until now, but we regret that we can no longer hold the line on the pricing for some of our amplifiers. The amount of metal used for their transformers, heat sinks and chassis makes them vulnerable to price increases of these raw materials.

For that reason, effective July 1, 2006, we are forced to increase the pricing of our 5x200 WPC and 7x200 WPC amplifiers. (Pricing for the Model 7075, Model 7125 and Model 2200 remain the same, as their prices were set more recently and have not undergone the price pressure of their larger brethren.) We are letting you know about these increases in advance, so that there will be time to consider making a purchase before the new prices become effective.

The 5x200 WPC Model 7500 will carry a $1,599 price tag starting on July 1st, a modest $100 increase. The popular Model 990/Model 7500 combo price increases $100 to $2,498.

The Model 7700 price will increase to $2,149. Even with this increase it remains the most affordable 7x200 WPC amplifier with balanced inputs available today, a clear value when compared to anything in the market. The popular Model 990/Model 7700 combo package will be priced at $2,998, an increase of only $100 over the current price.

The Model 7200 is now available at the $1,849 price announced at the Home Entertainment Show. This 7x200 WPC powerhouse is perfect for those who will not make use of the fully balanced architecture of the Model 7500 and Model 7700. For those of you not familiar with the 7200, a production unit is now being photographed and complete information will be posted in the 7200 forum in the saloon next week.

In addition to the processor/amplifier packages just described, we continue to offer a wide range of “combo package” values that combine our full range of amplifiers, processors, subwoofers and the amazing Velodyne SMS-1.

Pricing for our other products remains the same as currently listed, with the exception of the Model RR2150.

Model RR2150 Changes

As those who have been waiting for an RR2150 know, we have experienced significant problems in keeping up with the overwhelming demand for this product. This has been very frustrating to us, as the factory selected to produce this model was chosen for their exceptional track record.

Unfortunately, the factory has missed several agreed to delivery dates for reasons not only outside of their control, but more importantly, for reasons well within their control. Clearly, this compromised our ability to deliver the RR2150 with the same level of service and efficiency we have become so well known for. Furthermore, things have been complicated by the fact that the RR2150 has been a huge hit with orders coming in at three times our original estimates.

When you combine the increase in demand, parts shortages and a factory that did not produced as promised, the end result is a major delivery problem. We were initially able to counter part of the impact of this by shipping the units by air, but that is not a long-term answer. Most importantly, it does not allow for a reliable supply chain that enables us to promptly fill your orders.

To solve the problem, the only viable solution is to move production of the RR2150 to a different factory, one capable of providing us with on-time delivery and faster production runs, while continuing to meet our exceptionally high quality standards. A new factory has been selected, but it will take us approximately 90 days to get production of the RR2150 up and running. We are confident that once production resumes we will be able to satisfy virtually any level of demand for the RR2150.

At the same time, the RR2150 is not immune to the parts price increases that have impacted our amplifiers, and the costs associated with moving to the new factory. Therefore, once the RR2150 is back in production, the price will increase approximately ten percent.

In the meantime, we will honor the current price of $599 for all RR2150 orders we have already received. In addition, we will continue to take new orders on a “reservation” basis between now and the restart of production. Any orders for the RR2150 placed once shipments resume and the RR 2150 is “back in stock”, will be charged at the new, higher price. The bottom line: If you are seriously considering the RR2150, now is the time to place your reservation order and “lock in” the $599 price. Of course, as always, we will not charge your credit card until your order is ready to ship.

We recognize that this is a frustrating situation for everyone, but we ask you to hang in there with us while we make this transition, which will benefit us all in the long run. The product itself is an amazing combination of state-of-the-art technology, pure “analog” sound and incredible industrial design. Just this past week, we received the pre-publication copy of an upcoming review of the RR2150, but we are under agreement not to release any details. All we can say is that when this review appears, we expect demand to go through the roof.

When judged by any measure, be it sonic performance, high resale value, the multiple “Best Product” awards or spectacular reviews, all Outlaw products are tremendous values. Whether you beat the price increase by purchasing before the end of the month, or wait until later in the summer, Outlaw Audio continues to prove that “The best values in home theater are just a mouse click away™”. We appreciate your support and look forward to serving you with even more incredible values in the years ahead.

With the sidewalks getting hot enough to cook an egg, things are also heating up back at the Outlaw’s Hideout. We’ll be back to you once or twice before Labor Day with more red-hot news. Until then, enjoy your summer.

Best Regards,

The Outlaws
