Dear Fellow Outlaw:

As those of you who follow all things Outlaw know, the past year has been one where we spent a great deal of time working on new product design and development. While we only introduced one new product (the LFM-1) in 2004, we may bring as many as eight new products to market before 2005 comes to a close. Some, such as the Model 1070 Surround Receiver, the RR 2150 "RetroReceiver" and the Model 790 Amplifier, have been previewed at the Home Entertainment Shows, while others are still brewing in the development labs deep within the Outlaw's Hideout.

While we try to do as much testing as we can, there is no substitute for the wide variety of equipment configurations and usage models that occur in "real life" testing. Thus, a critical part of the final stage in our product development process has always been to solicit comments from end-user beta testers. With the new year upon us, we will very shortly be at the point where beta testers will be needed for a number of products that are getting close to production, and we'd love to have you participate in the tests.

In the past we have asked for testers to work with specific products, but given the wide range of models in the works and the different capabilities they have, we are changing the way testers are selected. By filling out the Beta Tester Application that is found at http://www.outlawaudio.com/1beta.html you will be entered into our database of prospective testers, and we will select the participants for each product test based on how the requirements of the product at hand match with your specific system. This also enables us to have quick access to interested testers without having to conduct a lengthy solicitation.

All the information you need is shown on the pages that accompany the application and in the Beta Tester FAQ, but a few important things need to be mentioned here:

-We cannot answer any questions about what products are being tested or take requests to participate in a specific test. PLEASE do NOT inquire about that, as it will not have any bearing on who is selected.

-All applications will be treated equally whenever a test is being conducted. Being "first" to fill out the application or getting to it later does not increase or decrease your odds of being selected in any way. It is your system that counts, not the time stamp on the application. Everyone will be treated equally.

-Any information submitted on the Beta Tester Application will be held in the strictest confidence by the Outlaws and will not be sold or released to any outside party. Your system is safe with us.

We will have a whole posse of exciting products to test in the coming months, many of which will set the home theater world on its ears, LITERALLY! If you want to be a part of home theater history we invite you to help us as an Outlaw Beta Tester!

Regards

The Outlaws
