Only info I've seen is the old stuff from the newsletters ( March and February ) that put availability of the PSC later this month and listed pricing for the PSC. I haven't seen any more info on the 1.2m PCA's since January , when they first mentioned it and guessed late March or early April.

Thanks for the reply gonk.

I'm going to need some new cables for my 950 when it comes, and I need the 1.2m PCAs and some component cables.

Can't wait to get all this up and running.

I am guessing they will put out the April Newsletter when they have more solid pricing and availability dates for the new cables.

*Looks in the air* *Whistles a little* I am waiting on the 1.2m PCA's also, or the April news to let us know when they are coming. I was figuring shortly into April they would have anounced it by now. Guess not <:

I'd guess they're still revising it to try to figure out what they want to say about the 950.

I have been waiting for any information on a new release date for the new interconnects. So yesterday I sent a email to Outlaw asking for a update on the 1.2m PCA and got this reply from Scott; The 1.2m PCA were scheduled to leave the factory (overseas)on or around the eight of May. This would mean that they would not arrive until the last week in May.

Partially ambiguous. They were "Scheduled" to leave on May 8th. You would think that this would be a fact by now and he could say they "Left" the factory on May Xth.

My email reply only gave me information about the PCA 1.2meter. You will have to wait for the updated web site or give them a call.

I just heard at the NY Home Theater Expo from the Outlaws themselves that the PSV cables are available. I even got to touch one. BTW, the 950/770 sounded great in their exhibit room.

Guess they haven't been in too much of a hurry to add the 1.2's to the product list.

I'd assume that now that the crew is back from HE they'll be working on getting the 1.2M PCA's and the full range of PSC's added to the order form shortly.

Wow.

1.8m Toslink: $19.95
1.8m Coax: $59.95.
3x the cost.

Which is the better deal for digital audio? smile

Why do the PSVs cost well more than double the cost of the PCAs?

I think that the coax costs more because the center conductor is made of solid silver (not just silver coated). These cables can also be used for composite and component video in addition to digital coax.

Anyone know about the outside diameter of the PCA connectors?

I thought I remember reading that Outlaw was going to have to OD made slightly smaller so they don't interfere with one another on the back of the 950. The PCA 1.2's were supposed to be the smaller dia and new batches of the .5's and 1.8's were also going to be smaller.

Is this true and how do you know which .5's or 1.8's you are getting?

Thanks.

I heard that, too. I'd recommend giving Scott or Mike a call.

-- They may have different barrels on the connectors (there was some comment from RAF about them putting the PCA locking RCA's on a little diet starting with the new batch). Otherwise, I believe that they're still the same cables.

Bad news for anybody out there with the plexiglass, neon-lighted entertainment center in the middle of the room...

*grumble* *grumble* ... should've made the 950's connectors farther apart, NOT changed the cables... the connecters weren't THAT big... In fact, they worked fine with the 950 anyway...

I agree Matthew, I liked the cables very much, and although tight it took 2 sec’s to hook them up to my 950. (I equate making the barrels smaller, - with less sturdy, abet possibly my own mental glitch, as size does not always denote build quality)

I would have changed the separation distance on the back of the next line of whatever’s a hair. But interconnects are cheaper and easier to change engineering on than the guts of a pre/pro's board configurations and spacing I’ll assume, - if you have to choose one or the other.
