I just saw a picture of the back of the 770 and i noticed a problem for me-the +/= speaker connectors appear very close-in fact too close to fit the high quality spades i use-if you great outlaw designers get this message i would seriously consider spacing them much farther apart if possible-unfortunately this may prevent me and im sure many others from buying the amp and possibly the matching pre amp-which i dont want to do-i want to own the outlaws!thanks for any replies,d.

The 770 that psklenar got pictures of in May has the channels a little closer together than the 750 (which is sort of inevitable when you cram seven channels into one chassis), but otherwise looked identical.

What kind of cables do you use? Assuming the 770's binding posts are arranged similarly to the 750's, I will say that I've been able to bi-wire my mains with a combo of Transparent MusicWave Super and TMC Gold Label Reference speaker cables (the TMC's have 8mm spades rather than 6mm spades, because of my Paradigm speakers). Not very petite cables, particularly the bulky Transparents. I've also got a center channel bi-wired with TMC on the 750; the other two channels have speaker cable connected with banana plugs. Crowded, but the only real problem I had was holding stuff in place while I tightened down the binding posts with the entertainment center up against the wall...

thanks for the info gonk-i probably over reacted a bit to the picture.most of the spades i use are probably not more than 8mm although i may have some as large as 10mm.i didnt think about the fact that the amp has 7! channels(duh) making the spacing even tighter than normal.it may be impossible to space them more.

I thought I'd seen a picture on AudioReview in their CES 2001 coverage, but I can't find the page and I don't think it included the 770 anyway. I did find a picture that Pat took of the back of the 770 they had in New York back in May. With credit to Pat for the goods, here's a link to the pic. Enjoy, but it's worth noting that things may easily have changed since then.

And since I'm moving my web site to a new host (due, amongst other reasons, the upcoming demise of AtHome), here's the link to the same picture on my new site:
