Since I normally run my speakers on small, I haven't noticed the problem with the DTS-ES LFE. Thought it was time to check it out, and sure enough, there was no LFE in ES mode. So, while checking out all of the other crossover settings, I found there is no redirected low bass from my center channel, using 2 different discs. My 950 will send crossed bass from fronts and surrounds to the sub, but not from the center channel. And that is both in DD or DTS. Has anyone checked all their channels/modes, and found any such problem? Even crossed at 150, there is nada coming from the center to the sub.

I know that this does work with the 80 Hz analog crossover. Somehow keep this thread active (I'm old, I will forget), and I'll test for this as soon as I have a chance. That Chesky Ultimate DVD-A/V disc has BM tests for each channel.

Maybe its time I got that. Is that the one titled Super Audio Collection and Professional Test Disc? I thought that was SACD........
Ah, further looking finds the Ultimate disc. Okay, I'll order that.

Anyone else had a chance to test this? I would, but my system is currently not completely set up.

The times that I've crossed over my center, there is definately signal being re-directed to the sub.

This is an odd feature to "break". I don't think I have it hooked up wrong; center is center.

How are you testing for this? The easiest way, is to find content that only has low freq center channel info (or at least a wide band signal). But that's easier said than done though.

I have several discs that have a fair amount of bass, Pitch Black, Castaway, etc. If I turn the fronts, or surrounds to small, then turn them off, bass below the cutoff freq. goes to the sub. Same setup for center, all other speakers to large, nothing comes out the sub (except for the occasional LFE) Since the center gets a very significant portion of the signal, there certainly is content below 150. In fact, if I set the xover freq. to 150 in the fronts, I can hear male voices in the sub.

I have meters that monitor the output levels of each channel in my system. Playing mono material and setting the center to "small" causes the mains to indicate signal.
