I just got my email too!! I was on the list in late december/early january...cannot remember! Its been a few months (hehe)!

Hey Jed, It's the "never had it before" email. I'm still a little choked up over it.

Boy am I glad. It's been a long wait (Jan 19th) I've certainly given thought to bailing out and buying a pre-pro from a competitor. Either Rotel or Anthem were considerations. However, Outlaw *still* has the best quality and feature set for the money. The 950 fits in perfectly with my needs and expectations. Plus, I like what I've heard so far regarding customer service. So, I guess the wait will soon be over and I'll be another satisfied customer. Yee Haw!!

I placed my order in June 2002,(I guess we should use years now). I never recieved a confirmation number of anything. When do you think I should be hearing form the Outlaws?

You should have gotten a confirmation email right after you placed your reservation. I reserved in June as well. Hopefully, the wait won't be too long.

Meangene, Dollarbill is correct, I had the same situation in Dec. (a lost reservation) I did not get an e-mail confirming my reservation, after a few days surfing this site where ‘confirmations’ were casually mentioned I became worried and contacted Outlaw and got it sorted out.

I'd call them Monday to double check if they ever received your reservation, to be on the safe side.

Smart Little Lena- Ditto here too, did December also. Except when I realized that I should have received an email notice (February), it was apparently too late as there was "No Record" of my reservation being originally placed. Hence I had to re-reserve my status and this time around did receive confirmation. Oh well.

I did get this: "Thanks for taking the time to place a reservation for the Outlaw Model 950 Preamp/Processor or Model 770 Amplifier. You have been placed on our priority list. We'll contact you about ten days before your unit is available to ship to re-confirm your interest in purchasing a unit and to take the necessary credit card information."

If this is what your talking about, I guess I am OK. It looked like one of those automated reply emails with nothing that made it unique like a confirmation number or something.

Just want to get it before it becomes obsolete.

I actually got two of the emails, maybe I got one of yours. :-)

If I remember correctly with mine I don’t think it was Outlaws fault, I was never one to contact Outlaw directly for anything, but when I reserved I sent a total of 3 e-mails. (Had some questions which were later answered by surfing the site). I believe I discovered later, only one of three, had gone through and when I accidentally dropped into my other e-mail site (I never use) I spotted one of the Outlaw e-mails stored as undeliverable. Some of my problem appeared to revolve around the fact I’m set up to normally use Hotmail, I have DSL and certain SB emails rights that I never access.

I have found that often when I use a Web Site house e-mail form (loaded from their site) it attempts to access my SB email through Outlook or something and often does not make it through.

Now I cut address's and paste into my Hotmail and am sure it got there that way.
Someday I'll sort this out. Meangene: Your confirmation letter sounds correct. I think (you might want to check this) I did not get a 'number' assigned until I got the e-mail detailing how to make payment and select shipping.

I believe that the problem with mine was that the @home.com ISP services went defunct and with it apparently my confirmation from OUTLAW. I tried to get access and explain the situation, but alas, no dice.

Werner 52: I, too had the old @home address.. now attbi. Yet, I continued to get Emails from Outlaw keeping me abreast of these delays. However, I havent received the all important Email as my Feb 12 date is approaching!!

I too received my e-mail. I reserved Jan. 16, 2002. I just purchased a 1066 2 weeks ago because I got tired of waiting. I am thinking of ordering the 950 to compare the sound. If I decide not to keep it would anyone be interested in it.

If you don't like the sound of the 950, does that mean that it doesn't sound good, and you'd be willing to sell it for 1/2 price???

OUTLAWS email stated, I have not received an email confirmation from OUTLAW that the order was placed, or a tracking number. I chose overnight so maybe no tracking number necessary? My mind is beginning to race, HELP!

I received an email almost immediately confirming my order. I have not, however, received the shipping email, yet.

Just got the tracking email! It left yesterday at 3:30 and went through Cincy at 5 this morning. Hopefully it will be here this afternoon!

Spoke to a gal at OUTLAW to inquire if my order for the 950 actually went through or not as I had not received an email notification or tracking number. I selected overnight shipping and sent the order at 1:30pm cst. Apparently the billing department is on EST and the shipping department is on PST. To me the 950 should have had ample time to make it to the evening drop for the nights shipment on PST. However, the gal informed me that they make no guarantee that the item will be ready to ship that same day or even next or following day. Well then, IMO if you cannot guarantee overnight shipment why have that flipp'in option on your order form. Overnight to me means overnight, if you have another definition of this please let me know.

As you may imagine, since we opened the flood gates of 950 reservation orders, our processing department has been inundated with new 950 orders. We are working as quickly as possible in order to ensure that all orders are processed same day. However, with so many orders we can not guarantee that this will happen. That said, your order will ship via DHL overnight today.

Werner: here is a copy of what it says on the Outlaw order form. Unfortunately, you must be part of that 3%?

I remember when they added that bit to the order form. That only refers to the fact that DHL only guarantees that 97% of the packages they deliver via their "overnight" service will arrive "overnight" -- 3% will take two days. Werner's problem is he placed the order yesterday, but Outlaw's shipping department is a bit more harried than usual right now and his 950 didn't get into DHL's hand that day for delivery the next day. His went "in the mail" today. 'Tis a bummer. There's nothing on the order form that says they may not get orders processed and shipped the same day, but there's nothing that says they will get orders processed and shipped the same day, either...

Hang in there, werner, it'll all be OK tomorrow.

To answer your question, unfortunately, we must wait. Hopefully, those who have purchased other units are notifying Outlaw that they're not ordering rather than letting the 10 days expire. I just hope it comes before "Attack of the Clones" comes out.

They screwed up, got it a day early Total turnaround time was something like 23 hours. I won't be able to hook it up until Saturday but I should have a fun weekend.

Were you able to order cables with it? I went to the page and got no such option. Doesn't help to get it tomorrow and wait a week fro cables.

I didn't have a need for cables but I did look and there wasn't any specific order form for cables. There was a comments box so maybe you could have specified a cable order there.

My e-mail button is wearing out. The last reservation date I saw was March 19th. That was a day ago. I reserved March 29th. I must be checking the damned e-mail 50 times a day. Although I do not usually get excited like this over purchases...I'm acting like a little kid who sent away for a super-duper toy from a cereal box!

I called, forgot who I spoke with (but they were helpful), they told me to order the cables separately from there normal order page, and in the notes/comments section state that I was ordering the 950/770 as well, i.e. ship together.

The only bummer was I thought shipping for the combo overnight was $165. On my invoice they charged $175 ($10 cable shipping cost???) I thought I read a looong time ago they would throw those in without incurring shipping charges?

When I ordered, (if this is still the setup). They try to get them to you at the same time. But the cables ship from a different factory. That was why I would assume there has never been a ‘cable order’ line included on the form for the 950/770 combo pkg. The Prepro/Amp are only lumped on the form for the convenience of showing the discount available when purchased conjointly.

I declined the order option. I was unable to wait (bought something in June), and am not going to upgrade at this time. You have moved up a notch.

I'm not venting or anything. I am just not ready to upgrade quite yet. Maybe I will wait on the high zoot pre/pro. By then maybe the economy will have turned around.

I'm with willscary...reserved 03-24 and watched the orders go to 03-19...then nothing.
I presume they went through alot of the early list very quickly. I was shocked at how quickly the dates rolled by.
I assume that they needed a gauge to see how many reserved vs. how many converted to an order. Now they're swamped !!
Hopefully the next "batch" will be ready next week and I can join you guys in singing the praises.

I think the Outlaws are having fun making us pass _just one more_ puzzler test to order our 950s......Imagine, "I've been on the blasted list for MONTHS and I'm being stopped by a blasted _computer glitch?!?!?!_ " I can just hear them laughing now....

Outlaw seems to be moving through the reservation list VERY quickly. Any indication -- is it due to ramped up production, or from lots of people not ordering?

It's probably at least partly due to ramped-up production, but we're also moving clear of the biggest "rush" -- the original December and early January reservations, and the reservations triggered by the beta test.

I'd vote for "no fear" on the lack of confirmation number. You should get a number when you get the e-mail saying you're clear to actually place an order (give CC info and the like).

Oaf, Gonk is correct. I just got my email on Sat.(9-14) and it gives you reservation# and a password to access their secure website to order. I ordered Sun. and received the 950 today (Tue.), but NNooooo 770 Maybe tomorrow Also no red dot due to not a retrofit. Hope this helps.

Just got my e-mail. On the wait list 6/29, recieved the order notice 9/17. The Outlaws are moving quickly. Now to the listening...The wait is over!

So, in one week they have gone through 3 months of the waitlist. I get mine this week. A thank-you to all the dropouts! Outlaw should raise the price $100 after the waitlist is exhausted (which looks like it will be by the end of this month).

My number is 2735, forgot when I made the reservation. Ordered Tuesday 9/17 5:45PM PT. I'm in So California, hope that the unit is delivered from Rancho Dominguez, less than 10 miles from my home.

Thanks for your help everyone (if it wasn't for this "got the e-mail" post I would have never known mine had a mistake.) I talked to Mike and was able to place my order today.

Kind of anticlimactic though, I guess I expected loud music and assorted angels singing of the miracle just birthed. Instead I got more of a stillbirth with, "thanks for your order, you will receive a confirmation shortly.”

I think I'll miss checking this site and my e-mail everyday just hoping to hear from them. Funny thing about an addiction, when you don't have the drug, you suffer incessantly. However, when you get the drug, instead of the high you were expecting, it only puts you back to the place where you were before the suffering.

What the hell, who am I kidding, REJOICE, THE SAVIOR WILL BE DELIVERED WITHIN 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS!!
