Can anyone at Outlaw comment on when more information on the 950 will become available? It would be great if we could see a product manual soon, or at the very least some updated photographs large enough so that the labelling on the front and back can be read.

I know the unit is delayed due to the last-minute EX, but I would guess that pretty much everything else has been finalized by now, and the product manual has probably already been written.

In the same vein, does anyone (Outlaw or the grape vine) know when the final ship date will be nailed down?

Is the 770 still going to ship at the same time as the 950? Since the 950 has been delayed quite a bit, I'd guess that the 770 is probably finished by now. Will we see some "spy" photos or a manual for that soon?

All good questions to which I'm sure MANY of us would like to see answers. However, I suspect the answer is likely to be along the lines of, "Just be patient."

Since I can't afford it right now, I'm fine with that. But I'm sure that they're working as hard as they can to get it out to us.

Matthew -- I'm waiting for the 950 myself. They have said that they intend to get the 950 out in time for Christmas. No new word since (I got a bit of a chuckle when I got an e-mail they sent to PCA owners about proper use of the connectors, saw Outlaw Audio in the "From" line and got my hopes up for a second before I realized it wasn't 950-related ). I'm sort of hoping for some news in early December, maybe manuals for the 950 and 770 or a reservation list. I think your assumption about the 770 is probably right, by the way -- I've seen more people posting here who want both than people (like myself) who just want the 950.

Methinks that if the critical path item on the schedule was the EX enhancement, we would have heard some kind of status by now. Granted that this may still be a work in progress, but my guess is that Outlaw's silence since early Nov is related to quality issues. There may also be open issues with the licensing agreements they have previously mentioned.

When all my other HT components arrive, I will then have to get a controller as well. If the 950 is timely, it will be the 950. Otherwise, I'll probably go in the direction of an AVM 20 (which I'll be auditioning this week).

Since I needed long ordering lead times to order my speakers and amps (products that are in the market, also direct from manufacturer), I decided to do such ordering and hope the 950 would be ready after I received the other stuff, versus waiting for the 950 to ship and then ordering the other stuff and waiting an extra 6-8 weeks.

Hmm, that's interesting; I hadn't thought of that. It sounds like a reasonable explanation, though. If it's true... not a good thing.

If the delays are due to quality issues and not the EX addition, then perhaps one of the Outlaws could post and explain?

It has been more than a month since we've heard any news about the 950 or 770 one way or another. An update, explaining at least what's going on, would be real nice.

Well, I placed my reservation today. Nothing to do now but wait, and hope.

I put my reservation an hour or so ago, too. By the way, thanks to whichever Outlaw was working late tonight to add the form to the web site (and any other Outlaws working late during the Christmas season to get the 950 done).

Yes, for sure. I'd bet they're probably all putting in 20 hour shifts by now, and even though we've been griping a lot I'm sure we're all grateful for the effor they so obviously put into their products.
