I have found the EMC8000 quite consistant. In other words the same signal passed through my system many times will yeild almost the same results.
Having said that I realize it is not perfection when it comes to the measurement itself, but I have found that within the useful frequency range (20hz to 20khz) it is plenty acurate. The reason I know this is because I have done a lot of comparision with what the manufacture of the driver (I build my own speakers) states and what shows up on my screen. They are darn close with the following caveat..
It does fall off below 20hz, but in my experience its hard to make an acurate measurement without the environment effecting it a lot. but what else can you do unless you want to spend big coin on a a-chamber or try and do all your measurements in an open area on top of a 20 foot post or ladder.
There is no doubt you would get better results with a M30, but as I mentioned, my priorities are listen, not measuring..
Keep in mind that in the final analysis, you are still going to "tune to taste" and no measurement is going to stop you from doing that.
