im driving my rocket 200center 750fronts and 550rears with the 950/755. i would like to go 7.1,probably with another pair of 550s.

my question is does any one have any experiance with the aragon amp verses a pair of m200s?(or the 755)

i figure i know prety much how the m200s are going to sound because i read that they are compairable to the 755.but i only know how the aragon sounds at the audio store and that was driving an $8000 pair of Krell speakers.so i know it will definately sound different on my system.

i guess i could inquire about the stores return pollicy and just compair it to the 755 i already have.

thanks for any opinions..

I haven't had any experience with Aragon amps, but I have quite enjoyed my M200's - I suspect you'll also be pleased with them.

thanks for your reply.you are helpful all over the forums here!
I guess my next question would be....
should I use them for the front right and left because they each will be drawing there own power, where the 755 has to split the power between the 5 channels.Or the 755s power compensates for the number of channels and there wont be a difference between them?

I used my M200's to drive my mains, leaving my Model 750 to handle center and surrounds. Since monoblocks have their own power supply (not shared with any other amp channels), many people prefer to have them on the main speakers. It also helps for some people who listen to two-channel material significantly, since they can leave the five channel amp off and just run the two monoblocks.

Relentless,

I can confirm that the M200's and the Rocket 750's go together VERY nicely: My Listening System . smile

i like the stands you are using..
i just got around to puting the spiked feet on mine and leveling them.i am not sure if it was getting them off of the carpet or getting the tweeter closer to my ear level but the sound improved,it evened out the front stage a bit.(my room is horrible for HT,the left side sounds more full due to the celing is angled for the roof and there is a door opening on the right side)

anyway i am going with the M200s.

i have been reading about the aftermarket improvements that have been done to them.i wonder if anyone has done it, the advertising makes it sound like the greatest thing.i am just courious about someones opinion on how much better the modified amps reproduce sound than the opinions of the people who are selling the mods.

Personally, I think it was raising the speakers off of the ground that made the most difference in my listening ... I tend to watch TV or listen to music while slouched down in the couch or chair, so the tweeters were already at about ear level. smile

I know what you mean about a room not being suited to an HT ... my great room certainly isn't (1/2 kitchen, 1/2 living room, all vaulted ceiling & *two* full sliders worth of glass on the back wall). Which is why I just run stereo up there.

I think you'll be very happy with the M200's and your Rockets.

As for modding them, I've never considered it ... I just can't see spending the money when I've been so happy with them as they are. I'd recommend using them stock for a while (weeks or months) and then consider modding them if you find them lacking. Just my two cents.

Enjoy!

I didnt really plan on the mods.I just read what they are upgrading and that they claim they will put it against amps costing 20 times more.I was just curious if anyone had done it and what there opinion of the out come was.

right now im in the proccess of up grading my cables but i cant see going really crazy on all of the equiptment untill i move into a more suitable room(ive read that the room is half the battle and i am starting to agree).

thanks for you comments.
