Hello All,

Here's a link to the first professional review of the Model 200 (or seven of them...)

http://www.hometheatertalk.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/007553.html

Enjoy,

Scott

Thanks for the pointer, although I don't know that I'd call this a professional review. I think it's just a guy who bought a bunch of 'em.

I notice he's quoting early versions of the specifications, saying that the amps are 1.5" tall and have 2 RCA inputs. D'oh!

Mike's also the guy who runs Home Theater Talk, so he's a fairly well-known figure in the HT web community.

It's kinda cool that just days after we had a discussion here about whether or not there were sonic differences between the 200's and the 770/755, we get a review by a former 770 owner.

From the review:

Quote:
It is a slim fellow this M-200, only 1 ¾ inches high!

And later he lists it as 1.5", but I suspect he just cut and pasted the specs - not really a huge oversight IMHO.

OK, OK, I'm probably picking nits. To my mind a professional review would include lab testing of power output and such. Anyway, it's helpful info in any case.

Ah. Yes, it would be nice to see some actual lab testing, but (1) most equipment is so good in the lab nowadays, and (2) measurements are widely ignored and/or ridiculed by the 'black magic school of engineering' folks, so it's getting less and less common.

Much of the 'information' distributed by the marketing side of this industry is truly sickening to me. Maybe I'd feel differently if I held stock in those companies.
