I have the 950/770 Combo and while listening to the new Allman Brothers DVD I burned up one of my 630I B&W Speakers. There was literally a 1 foot flame shooting out of the speaker. The voice coil obviously burned up. Can I check something on the amp itself to make sure that it is ok? I replaced the speaker temporarily with another one. While I wait for my new driver from the repair shop. This older speaker sounds fine. What can I check on the B&W(cross-over etc.) to make sure that it is ok? I like to play it very very loud.

Woah... That gives me flashbacks to living in the dorm my freshman year (although in that case we were using carburetor cleaner and a match, not Allman Brothers and a speaker). Flaming speakers are almost always an indication of trouble. Hopefully somebody here can give you some good thoughts on checking the crossover and other internals -- all I can think of is to look for obvious damage (blackened components on the crossover, singed or melted insulation, etc).

Wow! Let us know what the service center has to say about the repair, it might give some insight as to the cause.
