I think my 950 is trying to convince me it's upgrade time wink A few weeks ago the remote response started being dodgy - it would take 3-4 presses of the volume to get it to change. Then everything went back to normal for a week or two. Last night it stopped responding to the remote entirely. The 950 completely ignores remote input.

I'm using a URC MX-700 which works with all of my other components. To eliminate the possibility of the remote being bad, I just put fresh batteries in the factory remote and it doesn't work either.

Is there anything I can check, or should I just live with it until the 997 is released?

Thanks!

-Joe

Did you reset the unit?

I hadn't, but I just tried now. Both the unplug-for-5-minutes and pushing the reset button under the volume knob. Still no remote.

Thanks for the suggestion though,

-Joe

It magically started working again. Just turned it on and poof, the remote worked.

Weird.

Stopped responding again for a few days, worked for a few more days, and now it hasn't responded to the remote in a week.

I guess it's upgrade time. smile

I am having the exact same issue, although I'm not nearly as upgrade trigger-happy as you. I bought the 950 thinking such a quality unit would last me a long time -- I'll be very disappointed if I have to replace it over such a seemingly-silly issue as poor IR reception.

Yes, mine has stopped responding entirely. The Outlaws have no more ideas for me, so I'm just hanging on until I upgrade, then I'll send it in for repairs.

Hmmm. This is not promising. Maybe there is something wrong with mine. Keep us updated what the problem is and how much to fix. Maybe it could be a DIY if easy for the cost of parts only.

I had to replace my 950 because it lost remote function.

Was it "unfixable", or just not worth sending in? I'd think a sensor would be easy to replace, but if it's somewhere in the circuitry.......

It felt my 950 was becoming more and more unreliable in it's daily function and the IR not working was the last straw. I decided to cut bait.
