Oops. This is another opportunity for me to make my semi-irregular statement about Outlaw.

They are, without question or qualification, purveyors of some of the most outstanding and painstaking customer service in the home entertainment business.

Just purchased a couple Furman PL-PLUS DM w/light tube power stabilizers for my RACK...

I am on my way...

Yeah... I was going between 950/7100 and the 950/(755/770)... I decided to go the 755 way for now to have the extra power under the hood and then add a couple M200's when I get ready to but the 2nd set of surrounds to set up a 7.1 environment.

I feel like a little kid...

Does anybody know where you can find Middle Atlantic custom shelves at a decent price?

They have ranged from $105 to over $130 so far...

The cheapest I have found so far is $105 for a custom shelve for the 950 or 755...

Any information would be helpful... Thanks...

Well, my equipment is on the way...

Looks like I will get my 950 on Friday and everything else will not be here until the Monday of the next week.

Presidents Day!!!!! Delayed my toys because Outlaw did not ship on Monday, else I would have had it on Friday to enjoy over the weekend...

Well, my 950 and Furman PL-PLUS DM units came in early... smile

I have to say I am very happy with the look of the 950... The color is darker than what most pictures make it look (i.e. Black instead of dark grey)...

The bottons are bigger than I thought they would be... The look reminds me of one of my kids toys because of their size... But I like it... They are easily pushed and not all bunched together... The green button doesn't even bother me like I thought it might...

Overall I think this is not a bad looking piece of equipment... I put it up to the Furman PL-PLUS, which has the BRUSHED BLACK look and it looked pretty good... So I think it will look really good in my rack with the Middle Atlantic custom shelves I purchased...

Man-oh-man... Wonder if my other toys (755/LFM-1) will come in early... Doubt it, they came from CA...

This is going to be a long weekend if not.... wink

Well, my toys arrived today... I received my 755 (FedEx) and LFM-1 (UPS) today... And to my suprise I also received my Middle Atlantic custom shelves...

I was like a little kid opening everything... As I got my last toy (LFM-1) opened I found out it had one of the bottom corners damaged.... frown

Looks like something pushed through both the outer and inner box during shipping...

Look like I am going to have to call Customer Service tomorrow...

Well, at least I can setup the rest of the toys...

:-)

Also, FedEX left the 755 outside at the front door this morrning around 8:05 AM... Luckly my son saw it on the way to school and wrestled it into the house just before it started raining...

Thank god that toy didn't get wet...

They really need to make sure this stuff requires a signature...

i agree, ups ALWAYS leaves stuff on the front step, once they were kind enough to wedge it in the storm door.windy day, flew open, broke glass,of course after a phone call it was no fault of their's!

$1000's of equiptment is nothing to be left outside!

I might suggest that you specify "signature required" when you place your order if you want to make sure they just don't leave it at the door. Any business worth their weight will gladly accommodate this and many that ship high $$$ items do it by default.

In my area, UPS will leave things at the door, which most of the time is a good thing for me. FedEx, absolutely, positively will not leave things without a signature unless I leave then a signed note saying it is OK. If I don't, they take it back to their terminal which luckily is only about 5 miles away and I can pick it up after 5:00pm. This works great for higher $$$ items.

I guess I assumed Outlaw would require a signature considering the price of the equipment.

When I have purchased high priced items before I had to request them to LEAVE it without a signature because their normal shipping required a signature when delivered.

As for FEDEX... That is the funny thing... The 755 was delivered by FEDEX... FEDEX has never left a package at my door before... If I am not here they leave a note saying they will try again or I can pick it up at their service center.

That was why I was suprised when I found out they left a $1299 AMP sitting outside in the damp weather...

I am just glad my son took the effort to drag it into the house...

I ordered my 950/7100 combo 2nd day.The 7100 showed up 1st and was left standing on my front porch(think it came dhl(I called Steve and told him,he wasnt very happy with this procedure).
My 950 came fedex and of course required a sig.Nice job fedex, dhl on the other hand, gah,it was raining when they left it.

BTW,outlaw customer service should be the model other companies use as a goal.

With the packages I've received from Outlaw, signatures have normally been required, although UPS sometimes disregards it. I have a standing signature release with FedEx (picking up packages from the service center here is a nightmare - pretty sad for the company's home city), but on at least one occasion they've ignored it and hung on to my packages. UPS is very good about leaving packages on the back step, safe from rain and curious passers-by. One suggestion that may or may not work for some people (which I have used before with Outlaw and will probably use in the future as well) is to have packages delivered to your work instead of home - no fear of rain, there's somebody available to sign for it, and all you have to do is deal with carrying it to your car to take it home (which admittedly is a pretty major deal for an LFM-1 or a 770).

Well, just got off the phone with Steve... They are shipping a new LFM out today or tomorrow and sending UPS to come and pick up the old one...

Great customer service...

WOW... I listened to Pearl Harbor...

It was amazing how I could hear the explosions and the little thinks like the machine gun shells hitting the side of the ships...

Can definately tell the 755 has reserve power... The sound tracks coming out of my speakers where AWESOME...

My Paradigm 11seMK3 where putting out some nice sound... I can't wait to hear my theater when my replacement LFM-1 gets here...

I have two Furman PL-PLUS DM units, one for the 755 on is own circuit and the other on a seperate circuit for my other gear (950, Projector, DVD, etc...). The Furman PL-PLUS DM used for my AMP had the DM switch set to CURRENT. It was different watching the current meter go up and down with the different sounds during the movie. Can definately see the current draw on the low base sound tracks...

Very please with my purchase so far...

Well,

I got my LFM-1 replacement and finally got it setup...

When I first installed the LFM I didn't notice all that much... I thought it sounded better with just my paradigm 11seMk3 set to LARGE.

I then came back the next night and noticed that the bottom of the LFM was not that far off the carpet. So, I decided to use the PADS (Meant for hard floors) to help elivate it a little more. Believe it or not, it helped some because it ended up raising between 1/4 and 1/2 inch more off the carpet. I then played with the trim on the 950 for the SUB and I ended up setting it roughly 5db higher than my speakers.

After doing all this I went back to watch Pearl Harbor...

Now that was what I was looking for... wink

So far I have been pleased with the tightness of the LFM... I had purchased a paradigm sub roughly 10 years ago and was not happy with it because it seemed sloppy... The LFM seems tight and crisp... Closer to my speakers...

I will be doing some more playing this weekend..
