I've had my 950 for almost 2 years now and this is the first time I've really tried to use the DTS surround mode. I cannot get the 950 to lock onto a DTS signal. I have a Panasonic XP-50 and I can select the DTS soundtrack on the fly. I have also gone through the setup screen on the dvd's themselves to select the DTS soundtrack. I've tried various DVDs with no luck. It ends up as PLII-C I have tried to force the 950 into DTS mode (out of auto mode) It will stay in DTS mode but won't play anything. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre DVD i'm playing right now will play Dolby D and Dolby EX. I've been through all my connections and have tried everything short of a different DVD player, which I don't have.

Have you checked the DVD player's menu (not the disc menu, but the player setup menu) to verify that the DTS output is set to bitstream? Check out this thread for one thing that you might want to check on.
