I have just purchased the 950/770/LFM-1 combo and have put my 770 on a separate shelf. However I have put my Marantz receiver which I am using to power my 2nd zone for music upstairs on top of my 950. I have spaced the 2 components with hockey pucks ( I'm in Canada-so what else would you expect! Too bad for the NHL lockout-looks like a long one!) so I have about 1.5 inches of clearance. Even so, I noticed the 950 gets warmer to the touch vs when I had it as a stand alone, it barely got warm at all. Is this a good idea or should the 950 be stand alone too?
I figured this was better alternative than stacking my 950 on top of my receiver which of course gets a lot warmer with amplification inside. Thanks in advance.

One solution might be a product called the "Cool Shelf" sold by a company called Active Thermal. Their website is: www.activethermal.com I don't have any personal experience with their products, but a friend of mine has used them successfully.

Good luck!
