If I match the above referenced units, will I be able to get the full benefits of Dolby Prologic II? Or do I need to have 7.1 system for that?

Thanks

As usual I am a bit confused. I think I meant Dolby Prologic IIx.

As you've noted, the 755 is a five-channel amp, leaving you with no surround back channels. You would need a 7.1 system to have any use for Pro Logic IIx since the only difference between IIx and Pro Logic II is that IIx can generate stereo surround back channels. The 950's Cirrus Extra Surround can create a mono surround back channel and send it to one or two surround back speakers (if available).

Thanks Gonk, that clears up a bit of confusion on my part. My room won't accomadate 7 speakers so I guess I don't have to worry about IIx.
