Let me say that this 950 really opened up my system. I was using a Pioneer Elite 26tx for a pre/pro, and while it did a decent job, I had no idea what a difference the 950 would make!

Ok question...

when I listen to cd's in analog/stereo bypass and turn the 950 off, and then turn it back on, it always returns to analog 5 Stereo. Why, and there must be a way to keep it on the last setting I left it at.

I haven't gone thru the manual much, and with all the new toys I have arriving daily from ups/fedex, im being torn in all directions.

Thanks in advance for any info.

One quirk about stereo bypass: the 950 does not consider it to be the same as a processing mode, so it is not possible to leave an input defaulted to stereo bypass. As a result, the next time that you select that input (including the next time that it powers up), it will use the default processing mode (which in your case is 5 Stereo).

When I was using the 950's remote, I had a pair of macros assigned to M3 and M4 that issued the command to switch to stereo bypass and 5.1 channel input respectively. That way I could select "DVD" and hit "M4" to go to the 5.1 analog input for DVD-Audio discs, or select "CD" and hit "M3" to use the analog inputs in stereo bypass. It's not a perfect fix, but it was as simple an approach as I could make it.

Thanks for replying my friend. Doesnt take but 2 seconds to change it to regular stereo bypass, but I was just wondering if my unit was acting up. Now my mind is set at ease

No problem. Congrats on the new gear, by the way.

Thanks. I just got the new powered towers from Definitive for mains, and a pair is being used as surrounds as well. I have a Parasound Halo A52 amp running them. I feared the 950 would be the weak link, but I was very wrong indeed

I couldnt be happier with this setup
