Is there a standard scheme for cable boots when you get into HT? What would be the colors used for the 6 cable Universal player to pre/pro setup?

R front: red
L front: white
R rear: ?
L rear: ?
Center: ?
Sub: ?

Does anyone know of "label stickers" that are availible in colors for this use?

When my career in computers was more involved with cabling we used this:

but it was used to mark cable numbers which would seem easy enough for HT use but I was hoping that maybe there is a cable coloring standard.

Thanks!

THX does have a standard for color coding of left surround, right surround, center, and sub, but aside from (most) THX-approved receivers you don't see the standard used much. I have never seen it used on interconnects.

In lieu of nice cable markers like those you linked to, I've used blue painter's masking tape and a black Sharpie to ID a number of longer interconnects in my system.

I've never even seen the THX color scheme. You can always use the standard resistor color code for 0-9

Black = 0
Brown = 1
Red = 2
Orange = 3
Yellow = 4
Green = 5
Blue = 6
Violet = 7
Grey = 8
White = 9

And as a bonus, you'll be able to read the value of resistors - very useful skill in these days of chip components.
